Services

It is my pleasure to assist clients in connecting with their innate capacity to heal, supporting them to know their inner self and to trust themselves. I have extensive experience assisting a diverse range of clients to achieve their goals, develop new skills, regain emotional balance, and increase their sense of well-being.

Clients can expect to feel deeply understood and validated while being gently invited to identify distressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviour patterns that interefere with their ability to live their best life. My goal is for every client to walk away feeling more hopeful, able to cope, and have a sense of inner peace.

I have over 20 years of experience in mental health and wellness and I continue to feel excited about supporting clients with a wide variety of challenges to achieve their goals.

The theoretical framework from which I work is client-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed, and attachment and mindfulness-based. I have received extensive training and practice in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Polyvagal Theory. I have completed extensive training in order to obtain the ADHD - Certified Clinical Service Provider (CCSP) designation and the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) to enhance the services I provide to clients with ADD/ADHD and Trauma.

Therapy for…

  • ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common condition that affects the way a person focuses, manages tasks, and handles impulses. People with ADHD often experience challenges in staying organized, focusing on one thing for long periods, or sitting still. They may also act impulsively or feel easily distracted by their surroundings.

While ADHD can make everyday tasks more difficult, it also comes with strengths. Many individuals with ADHD are creative, energetic, and great at thinking outside the box. Everyone with ADHD experiences it differently; some may have more trouble staying focused (inattentive type), while others may be more hyperactive or impulsive (hyperactive-impulsive type), and some experience a combination of both (combined type).

Counselling with me can be helpful for individuals with ADHD, as I provide strategies to manage attention, improve organization, and reduce overwhelm. I can also offer support in improving self-esteem, managing emotions, and achieving personal goals. By understanding ADHD and learning new coping techniques, individuals can thrive in their everyday lives.

  • Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but for some people, it can feel overwhelming and persistent. It’s that uneasy feeling of worry, fear, or nervousness that doesn’t seem to go away, even when there’s no immediate danger. Anxiety can show up in many ways—racing thoughts, restlessness, trouble sleeping, or even physical symptoms like a racing heart or tense muscles.

While anxiety is something everyone experiences from time to time, some people find it harder to manage and may feel anxious in everyday situations like work, social events, or even when alone. This can make it difficult to fully enjoy life or focus on what is important.

The good news is that anxiety is highly manageable, and with the right support, it’s possible to reduce its impact on your life. I can help by offering practical tools and strategies to manage anxious thoughts, calm your mind, and regain control. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of what triggers your anxiety and how to navigate it in healthier ways.

  • Depression is more than just feeling sad or having a bad day—it’s a persistent sense of feeling down, empty, or disconnected from life. For many, it can feel like a heavy weight that makes even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. People experiencing depression may lose interest in things they once enjoyed, have trouble concentrating, or feel tired all the time, even after a full night’s sleep.

Depression isn’t a sign of weakness, and it’s not something you can just “snap out of.” It’s a real and common experience that affects many people, often making it difficult to find joy or motivation. Everyone’s experience with depression is different—some may feel hopeless or numb, while others may feel irritable or withdrawn.

The good news is that help is available. I offer a safe and supportive space to explore feelings and thoughts behind your experience of depression. Through therapy, you can learn new ways to cope, regain your sense of hope, and take steps toward feeling better.

  • Trauma is the emotional and psychological impact left behind after experiencing a deeply upsetting or harmful event. This can be something sudden, like an accident, or ongoing, like difficult relationships or stressful life situations. Trauma affects everyone differently. Some people may feel stuck in memories or experience strong emotions like fear, sadness, or anger, while others may have trouble connecting with people or feel constantly on edge.

It’s important to understand that trauma is a normal response to challenging events, and it’s not a sign of weakness. The effects of trauma can linger, making it difficult to feel safe, trust others, or enjoy life as before. However, healing is possible.

I provide a safe space for you to explore how trauma has impacted you and help you develop strategies to feel more grounded and in control. With the right support, you can process difficult emotions, rebuild trust, and begin to heal.

  • Personal growth and healing are about becoming the best version of yourself and finding peace in areas of your life where you may feel stuck. It’s a journey of self-discovery where you learn more about who you are, what you want, and how to live a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

Sometimes, this process involves healing from past experiences, managing emotions, or changing patterns that no longer serve you. Personal growth also includes building confidence, improving relationships, setting boundaries, and learning new ways to handle stress and challenges.

I'm here to provide the support, tools, and guidance needed for this journey. With my help, you can gain clarity on your goals, work through difficult emotions, and develop strategies to move forward in a positive direction. It’s not about perfection, but about growth, resilience, and learning how to live a more balanced and authentic life.

  • The perimenopause/menopause transition is a significant one that affects women physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Many women experience symptoms such as mood swings, anxiety that comes out of nowhere, depression, irritability, fatigue, brain fog, sleep disturbances, hot flashes and night sweats, and a sense of loss or shifts in self-identity. These changes can feel overwhelming and may impact relationships, work, and your overall sense of well-being.

I offer a safe and supportive space where you can learn to navigate these challenges. Together, we can explore strategies to manage stress, cope with mood changes, improve emotional resilience, and address the impact on your relationships and daily life. I also help clients understand and normalize their experiences, building tools to regain a sense of control and balance.

Using a compassionate and evidence-informed approach, I support you in addressing the unique challenges of this life stage, empowering you to reconnect with your strengths and thrive during this transformative period.
